Lección 16 e: El ´Past Simple´- formas negativa e interrogativa

Exceptuando el verbo be, las formas negativas e interrogativas del 'Past Simple' se construyen de la misma manera que en el ´Present Simple', tanto para los verbos regulares como para los irregulares.

Estas formas del pasado se construyen con el verbo auxiliar do, pero en su forma de pasado did:

NEGATIVA

sujeto + did + not + infinitivo


I did not (didn´t) work
you did not (didn´t) work
he did not (didn´t) work
she did not (didn´t) work
it did not (didn´t) work
we did not (didn´t) work
you did not (didn´t) work
they did not (didn´t) work


He didn't work late last night. - (Él) no trabajó tarde anoche.
They didn't work in London in June. - No trabajaron en Londres en Junio.

INTERROGATIVA

did + sujeto + infinitivo


did I wait?
did you wait?
did he wait?
did she wait?
did it wait?
did we wait?
did you wait?
did they wait?


Did she wait at the bus stop?- ¿Esperó (ella) en la parade del autobús?

Did they wait for you at the station? - ¿Te esperaron en la estación?

Veamos unos ejemplos de preguntas con sus 'respuestas cortas', que utilizan did/didn't:

Did you go on holiday last year? - ¿Fuiste de vacaciones el año pasado?
Yes, I did. - Sí, fui.

Did Lisa go with you?- ¿Fue Lisa contigo?
No, she didn't. - No, no fue.
